The story of Baglan is long and rich. The  stone structures on the hills show that the ancient Celts inhabited the area in the Iron Age.
The Roman Road to Neath passed through the village and legend tells of the naming of the village in the Dark Ages or Age of the Saints.
The Normans invaded and settled, which split Baglan into the Wallicana and Anglican (Welsh and English/Anglo Norman areas).
Industry further changed the face of the land and the Baglan developed into the village that we now know.
